Slatecraft

Slatecraft is an independent, browser-based AI video studio built around Vidu Q4 Preview, the public preview of ShengShu Technology's Vidu Q4 video model. It is positioned as a focused, no-install generator for turning still images into short cinematic clips: an image becomes the first frame (Image to Video) or a set of up to 12 reference images plus up to 3 MP3 voice clips becomes the cast and location of a brand-new scene (Reference to Video). Every render can include synchronized dialogue and sound effects, and the model plans its own camera moves and cuts inside the 3–16 second clip. Its target audience is independent creators, short-drama and storyboard makers, e-commerce and product marketers, illustrators, and small agencies who need talking-character, product-ad or action scenes without a camera crew. Core features include a single-screen editor with live cost preview on the Generate button, resolution choices from 540p draft up to 4K, sound-on or silent output, automatic credit refunds for failed or provider-blocked generations, and a My videos library. Content-wise, Slatecraft publishes a curated gallery of its own example clips whose prompts, images and settings can be loaded straight into the editor, plus prompt-writing guides, a Vidu Q4 explainer page and an extensive FAQ. The UX is deliberately minimal — dark or light theme, drag-and-drop upload, no timeline editing or text-only mode — while technically it runs Vidu Q4 Preview through Vidu and fal's model APIs on a transparent per-second credit system.
